The police have come across huge cocaine cache during a security checking of a Thai national, Waranya Kaewpikul, at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Tuesday night. The Thai woman was heading towards Thailand via Malaysia’s Kuala Lampur from Kathmandu with 3 kilo and 54.5 grams of cocaine. Nepal Police’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) confiscated the cocaine with estimated international market price standing at Rs 61.80 million, it was informed at a press briefing. The cocaine was hidden in a ‘false bottom’ inside a suitcase, police said. She had arrived in Kathmandu on August 5 and stayed at multiple hotels, preliminary investigation showed. A Nigerian named Remmy has assured Waranya of a reward of 70,000 Baht for transporting the drug. She was handed over the drug by a Bolivian woman, Rossy Gueddy Toledo Vallejos on August 7. Police have also arrested Rossy in this connection from Kathmandu this morning.
