Posted by Anup Baral August 22, 2016 :Dr Govinda KC and his supporters staged a protest outside the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Saturday demanding swift implementation of the agreements the government has signed with him.
During his eighth hunger strike, the previous government led by KP Sharma Oli had agreed to acquire the Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences (MMIHS) while amending some provisions of the Health Profession Education Policy. Following the agreements, Dr KC agreed on July 25 to break his 16-day fast. Dr KC and his supporters said that even CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is the incumbent prime minister, had expressed his commitment to fulfilling the demands once he assumes the position of the executive head.
