Former general secretary of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NEFIN), Ang Kaji Sherpa, who was arrested on Wednesday afternoon, will face charges on ‘Cyber Crime,’ police confirmed on Thursday. Police is preparing to file case against Sherpa under Cyber Crime at the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. Sherpa was arrested for allegedly posting materials that are likely to disrupt communal harmony in his social networking site, especially Facebook account. Sherpa is also alleged of posting pictures in his Facebook account with an intention of developing rift between Nepal Police and Armed Police Force in the aftermath of the Tikapur incident, a police source told Setopati. If Sherpa is proven guilty in court, he will be liable to Rs 100,000 in penalty or five years imprisonment or both. Police is set to file case against Sherpa on Thursday afternoon.
